DAVID KERTZNER - Managing Director
David Kertzner founded ProActive English in 1997 in response to the growing need for customized on-site language and communication courses for non-native English speakers working in professional situations. In 2001, he began developing The Business English Web in response to the growing demand for a qualitative Web tool featuring business-oriented, interactive content for higher level English language learners.
With 15 years of domestic and international teaching and administrative experience, Mr. Kertzner has designed and delivered multi-dimensional programs to professionals at all levels whose work involves using English as a second language.
His client list includes international representatives of: NTT Commware, Wyeth KK, Applied BioSystems, TIS (Japan and US), DHL Worldwide Express, Novellus Systems, Inc., Business Objects Americas, Cornerstone Research, Philips Semiconductors, Robertson Stephens, BEI Technologies, Sony, Hewlett-Packard, Norwegian Trade and Technology Office, Samsung, Oracle, Arthur Andersen, CBS MarketWatch.com, France Telecom NA, GlobalOne, Cambridge Technology Partners and ViaFone.
Mr. Kertzner's career includes work as an economist for the state of Alaska, language teaching and program administration in the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan, and language teaching at Hofstra University (New York) and City College of San Francisco. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Brandeis University and a graduate degree in teaching English as a Second Language from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.
